how to update the requirement
Req. 'x' is changed. I want to update the req. in the test director. That req. is already associated with the test case. Is it enough to change the description of the req.? When the test case will be updated? How come the user knows the req. is changed?

These rules "instructs TestDirector to create alerts and send emails to notify those responsible when changes occur in your project" (as per the online help). In your case, this would be the test designer. The automatic mail would have to be done through some basic programming in the Requirement workflow.
