Hi i am using Test Director 8.0,
I have admin privileges. In Test Plan tab ,in design steps there are 3 columns stepname, description, expected result.I want to add a new column called Actual Result.COuld anyone please help me how to do that.
Why would you have the actual result in the Test Plan? These data are on a per run basis, i.e. can change each time you run the test. This is why the Actual Result field belongs to the STEP entity, not the Design step one.
Anyway, you can add a column for the design steps through the standard Project Entity customization method: add a user field to the "TEST STEP" entity.
New to TD here to. I am using version 8.0 and trying to export excel to TD using 2003. Going through the steps to export I found that I wanted to change the column names and not sure how to do this. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks
I have Admin rights, the problem is changing the column names in TD. Not sure how to do this. I almost have it set up right with this one exception. When I look at the detail steps they are not numbered. Not sure why...so I wanted to put Step Number in a column.
If you are referring to the colun named "Step Name" in the test steps area of the test in the planning screen then it would appear thet whomever wrote the steps either copy & pasted them in or wrote them directly to the the test rather than using the "Step+" method, that is the icon with the footprint and a plus sign. Actually they probably deleted the Step Name. This automatically names the steps step 1, step 2, step 3, etc. The quick fix for this is to edit each step and add the name in the step name box at the top.
Is this what you are looking for?
