I wanted to know if there is any way to club together Test Sets in Test Director. In my Test Plan i have lots of Test Sets but I want to put them in various buckets depending on their version and functionality. How can we do this?
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
That looks like something that I can do. The only problem is that I dont know how to. Can you tell how to go about doing this? I think what you are talking about is customizing TD. Can you tell me where all to look up for further information on this?
You will find the onformation on how to do this in Help - Books Online - Administrators Guide. This will tell you how to add the UDF. Only hassle after that is that now you have to go through the test sets and assign each of them a value as they will initailly be empty.
Maybe a simple query, but just did a search and this topic seems related. Couldn't get help from the product documentation (TD 8.0).
How do I run test-scripts in different test-sets (under the same folder)?
I am trying to run Winrunner automated scripts overnight. Since these are grouped in different folders, I am not able to figure out how do I put these scripts across test-sets at once, i.e. these tests run un-monitored.
I am able to do it for a set of tests under the same test-set, but not from different test-sets.
The scheduling tool is available in the download section of Mercury Support. They have different versions available.
TD 8.0 provides the support to schedule multiple Test Sets to run at different times or at the same time.
In the test lab you have to arrange the tests in sequence in the Execution Flow then just add the schedule time for the first test in the test set. The TD documentation should provide more information.
