Hi Everybody..
At present iam into Manual Testing but like to acxquire knowledge about Automated Testing also. I was going through the Test Director setion in this forum and found some good information. But as iam a new to this Tool will anyone could exactly tell me what are the features that a Test Director Tool provide to a QA and also what are the steps that are required or follwoed when switching form manual testing to Test Director. So my exact question is in what all things the Test Director helps and How?
TestDirector collects all your manual tests. You can create Requirements, Test cases, Test sets, defects. It's a tool for managing the test process.
It's possible to create test scripts for automated tests. TestDirector can work together with Winrunner. It's Winrunner that execute the automated tests not TestDirector.
I suggest to search for discussies about Winrunner in this forum.
TestDirector is a Test Management Tool as clearly mentioned by BlackAngel. TestDirector also offers a variety of Reports at each Stage i.e. Requirements, Test Plan, Test Sets & defects. Besides Test Director can also be used to automate and schedule Tests. Test Director can be easily integrated with various Automation tools like WinRunner, LoadRunner, QTP etc.
