If you have to ask, you can't afford it. No, really, we've had it for 5 years and I really don't know what the current cost is. I do know it's available with several different options and is user license based. The newer Quality Center Ver 8.2 is probably the way to go though.
Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

You need to talk directly to Mercury for a definitive answer to this one, and to get a better idea of your needs. To give you some idea, in the UK, TestDirector Enterprise Edition (which permits you to use a half-decent database like MS SQL Server 2000 or Oracle 9) will cost you around 22,000GBP for 5 concurrent users, plus about another 2k per annum for maintenance. There are a couple of things you need to consider though: 1. You may be able to negotiate discounts for licenses (but not for maintenance, which is based on number of concurrent users); 2. imho there is no better product on the market; 3. I have only praise for Mercury Support.
Well we had a great deal with MI we had both Test Director and QTP for £10,000 mainly because it was just before the end of there financial year Test Director we had 5 Licenses normal TD costs arounf £20,000
I don't think I can afford the cost of TestDirector. At my old company I used it and loved it. Can you think of another tool that would allow me to track defects and write test cases together that might not be so expensive?
