    TD offline Updation

Is it possible to write a script that updates the TD database offline. We use TD more as a repository of tests and none of our tests contain any scripts.hence all the testing is done manually, but updating has to be done on a regular basis.
Would it be possible to update the back end database with a simple database interface and a normal TD user rights.
    If so how ?

    Re: TD offline Updation

I believe that this can be done, but my question would be WHY? TD has a simple user interface making it easy to update and add tests. Ideally all tests wether manual or automated should be run via TD. This gives the ability to track the progress of the testing effort and provides a solid traceability path for Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. It takes some small amount of training to get the testers to run their tests through TD, but the metrics which are available alone will more than justify the effort.

    rich.
what happens in our scenario is that TD is frequently reset ..So it would make more sense to to an offline updation once everything it is done..So that the metrics could reflect better

By reset do you mean rebooted or the data is cleared? Is this by fault or by design. I'm just curious as to how you are utilizing the asset.
