I have a word document which need to be imported onto TD.I converted that to a txt file and managed to read all the lines into an array.
I have some fields like "SoR Ref", "Contributors" in my word document. My requirement is to read those values and save into user defined fields.I've defined two user defined fields from admin windo.
The problem is when i tryied to define TDConnection object as bellow
Dim tdc As TDConnection
it is giving an error"End of the statement expected"
I really have no idea what does it mean.
Could any one send me a VBscript where i can create a new test with some name and read those values from an array and save into user defined fields.I'm using MS Access.
If you were attempting this in VBScript, then you should declare your object variable and then instantiate the object:
</font><blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;">'Declare Object variable
'Now instantiate object (Remove '80 if not TD8.0)
Set tdc = = CreateObject("tdapiole80.tdconnection"</pre><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">You cannot use full blown VB sytax as described in your example in VBScript.
A much easier solution would be to convert your Word or Access data into an Excel spreadsheet. TD's Excel import tool is much better than its Word import tool. If you need help with any of the specifics of this, just let me know. I've done it and imported >15,000 test cases into TD 8.0.
Martin, I am trying to understand the Excel import add-in for TD 8.0, especially in regard to importing test cases. (The Excel import facility for requirements seems easier to understand, somehow.) I am very familiar with the Word add-in for several TD releases, and do find it easy to make mistakes. My main question is whether I need a separate row for each test step in any given test. The Excel Add-in Guide for TD 8.0 is a bit sparse on this topic.
