1. ## Is Linking Lookup Lists Possible??

I was wondering if any one could tell me if it is possible to link user defined list together.

Basically what I would like to be able to do is if as follows:

List A
A*
B
C

List B
1
2
3
4
5

If List A = A then List B displayed 1,2 & 3 as possible selections

If List A = B then List B displayed 3 & 5 as possible selections

And if List A = C then List B displayed 1, 3 & 5 as possible selections.

I cannot see any way of doing this so I am rather than waste time trying to find out myself I thought I would as you more knowledgeable lot

P.S. I am using TestDirector 7.6 if that makes a difference.

Think of using many lists to accomplish what you are doing. I see a total of 4 lists needed for your example.

If Field A=A then Field x has list 1 [ 1,2 & 3]
If Field A=B then Field x has list 2 [3 & 5]
If Field A=C then Field x has list 3 [1, 3 & 5]

3. ## Re: Is Linking Lookup Lists Possible??

Thanks for the repay, but I am not sure you have fully understood what I meant

I want to be able to select specific items only from field 2 (which is a lookup list) depending on the value that has been selected in field 1.

If this was what you were referring to could you please let me know how to add one look up list into another lookup list as this is what I believe you are suggesting, or just give me some more detail on you suggested resolution.

Many Thanks

I understood, but probably assumed you knew what I meant...my bad.

What you do is switch the list for field x in the workflow depending on what value is present for field A.

In Moveto and FieldChange you check the value in field A. If the value is A you assign list one to Field X like Bug_Fields("BG_USER_01").List = Lists("List1").

There are some articles in the KB and some discussion in the manual on doing this kind of thing.
