I have around 50 Test Sets. Each containing atleast 50 steps. All these steps & test sets were run multiple times (multiple runs). Say for example,
Test Set1 has 5 steps. They were run 4 times.
1st run - 12 Dec 2002
2nd run - 25 Dec 2002
3rd run - 5th Jan 2003
4th run - 15th Jan 2003.
I want a report that will give me the number of steps that are executed from 20th Dec to 10th Jan. When I filter on "Exec Date", TD checks only the last run date. I hope you can understand the problem. One more thing, I am running the tests MANUALLY.
One of my major beefs with TestDirector is the reporting. I don't know about the latest version of it (we are in the process of upgrading), but in 7.2 it is slow and you are limited to what you can report on.
I have read access to the SQL Server where the TD database is stored, so I have written SQL queries to create reports I need. The report I was creating was for requiremnts. We have almost 12,000 entries for requirements and TD is VERY slow in building the reports, however my query creates the report in about 20 seconds, and it is written to a local file. You could try the same approach for what you want.
