TD 7.6 Enterprise News
From MI's Support Site:
TestDirector 7.6 is designed as a maintenance release and will focus almost entirely on quality and stability. Over 1000 issues reported in previous TD versions will be addressed in this release.
TestDirector 7.6 will be shipped as a mass upgrade version to all customers with active maintenance contracts.
Planned availability (for receiving upgrade shipments and ordering software) – September 9, 2002.
What’s New from TestDirector 7.5 to TestDirector 7.6
Database Server Administration
The Site Administrator contains a new tab—the DB Servers tab—which enables you to define database servers that were not defined during installation. For each database server, you define the database type, server alias, administrator user and password, and default connection string. You can also use the DB Servers tab to modify existing database server definitions, including the default TD user or database user password.
Note: The DB Servers tab is not available in the TestDirector Standard Edition.
TD Servers Tab Enhancements
In addition to setting the TestDirector server log file and mail protocol, you can now set the timeout period for locked TestDirector objects as well as the maximum number of concurrent database connections that can be opened by the TestDirector server for each project.
Restore Project Access Utility in Site Administrator
You can restore access to a TestDirector project using the Site Administrator’s Restore Project dialog box.
Renaming User Utility
You can use the renaming user utility in the Project Customization window to rename the users in the projects that are currently in your Projects list, before you restore access to a project containing the same users. If you do not rename these users, the user settings in the project you restore override your current user settings.
Enhanced Customization of User Group Permissions
The administrator can grant a user group(s) access to the following links in the Project Customization window: Setup Users, Setup Groups, Customize Module Access, Customize Project Entities, Customize Project Lists, Configure Mail, and Setup Workflow.
Defects Workflow Setup Enhancements
The Field Customization By User Group script generator, or wizard, has been replaced by the following:
Script Generator - Field Customization for Add Defect: Enables you to modify the appearance of the Add Defect dialog box, so that different fields appear for each user group.
Script Generator - Field Customization for Defect Details: Enables you to
modify the appearance of the Defect Details dialog box, so that different
fields appear for each user group.
You can now send tests by e-mail.
TestDirector now includes a self-paced guide which teaches you how to use TestDirector to manage the application testing process. It familiarizes you with specifying testing requirements, planning tests, executing tests, and tracking defects. It also shows you how to monitor the testing process by creating reports and graphs. You can access the TestDirector Tutorial from Help > Books Online, or from the TestDirector documentation package.
TD 7.6 will also support Sybase repositories.

Re: TD 7.6 Enterprise News
Given that the TDServerInitInitialisation function doesn't work with v7.5; v7.6, with which it does work, is much awaited.
