We are running manual tests, as we run through the test we enter comments in the actual results box, a test step fails and we have to stop the test,
the appliication is changed and we want to run the test again, but we want to start from the point the test failed, is there any way in which we can export the results from the first run to populate the actual results of the second run without having to re-enter the same information manually
many thanks in advance
There is no way to start the test from the failed step unless you do it in WinRunner. You can click the run from arrow tool button, which will pick up from where it left off (If the testcase is still up)
For a consistent workflow you should re-run the whole test after the application or environment has changed. But TestDirector also offers a function to continue a manual run. In TD7.5 goto 'TestLab' -> 'Execution Grid', select the Test you want to continue and in the menu 'Execution' click on 'Continue Manual Run'. This was also available in TD6.x but maybe not in TD7.2. If you want to save the old run and create a new run with the content of the steps already executed, you can write your own VB application or script using the TestDirector API.
