Access vs Oracle?
At the moment, we are running TD 7.2 using Oracle databases. The problem is that whenever we get an oracle error on the server, TD crashes and cannot be accessed until the Oracle problem has been sorted. I've asked for our own server but that didn't work so I've thought about converting the DB's to access instead of Oracle so that we are not affected by these errors. Is this OK?
I mean I've used access before for TD projects but not for ones this big. Is it reliable? Can the databases get infinitely larger?
Thanks for your help
Re: Access vs Oracle?
Mostly, it's based on the number of users. If you have 5 or more users accessing projects concurrently, Mercury does not support the use of an Access Database. If you can't get your own Oracle server, you might consider using SQL, because it can more easily be run on the same server as the TD web server, and then can be maintained by your group.
