Re: Error: Class Not Registered.

Problem Description: Error: "Class not registered" when copy / paste or emailing defects
A user receives "Class not registered" error message when copying and pasting in TestDirector 7.2. This error message can also happen when emailing defects.
The error appeared because a TestDirector component was not registered properly.
On the TestDirector 7.x web server machine:
1. Bring up Windows Explorer and confirm the path to OTAScripting.exe. The default path is:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Mercury Interactive\TDAPI Server\OTAScripting.exe.
2. Unregister the OTAScripting.exe. Go to Start -> Run, type in the path to the OTAScripting.exe along with the unregister command.
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Mercury Interactive\TDAPI Server\OTAScripting.exe" -unregserver
Then register it with the register command.
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\Mercury Interactive\TDAPI Server\OTAScripting.exe" -regserver
3. Configure OTAScripting.exe DCOM component:

Error: Class Not Registered.
We are running Test Director 7.2 SP3, and are getting and "Error:Class Not Registered" message whenever we try to copy steps from one test into another test in the test plan tab. We are also getting this message when we copy a test and try to paste it into another folder also in the test plan tab. We have looked through all of the permissions and this even occurs on a user with administrator rights. Has anyone seen this problem before??? Thanks
