Has anyone used any tools to integrate product specifications with test director.
Has any one used Caliber or DOORS ??
The Requirements function in TD seems limited with little version control or capability to track changes. Also it is geared towrds test requirements which means the product requirements need to be imported from some other source.
We write Test Requirements(What to test) in the Requirements tab.
Then we import the TR number/name into ReqPro and link it to the appropriate system requirement.
When the requirement changes we are alerted in ReqPro and then make the change in TD.
The Test Case and procedures go in the Test Plan Tab.
My company has a pilot project goingt whereby we're using Starbase's "Caliber-RM" product and importing requirements into TestDirector. None of my projects use Caliber (yet), so I can only relay the experience of other testers. The importing/linking does work, but as I say, this is a pilot, so our practical experience is limited.
We're also hamstrung by fact that that Caliber was implemented first- and that being version 3.0. TestDirector was implemented 6-9 months later and we've only been able to use TD v6.02 with Caliber 3.0. We've heard that Caliber 3.2 is available, which would allow us to upgrade TD, but getting the "hot" projects to upgrade won't happen (at least not until they've released).
This isn't much info, but hope it helps.
QUALITY . . . is like buying oats. If you want nice, clean, fresh oats, you must pay a fair price.
However, if you can be satisfied with oats that have already been through the horse . . . that comes a little cheaper.
acquinas I know it's been almost a year since your post regarding the CalibeRM-TD integration however I would love to know how this went. We are currently attempting to do the same and having difficulties. More process type than anything else. Willing to share some of your experiences..?
