QC Server Upgrade
I've got QC 9.2 installed on a server, and running on an Oracle database on another server. The server is too slow, so it needs to be upgraded, so we got a faster server. Now I need to install the QC Application Server on another machine, while pointing at the qcadminsite_db, and all the project databases on the same database server. And I have no idea how to do that.
Anyone got any comments?
Appreciate the help.
Re: QC Server Upgrade
As per the description, I believe you want to install QC application server on another server machine. Well you can do this with the following steps:
1. Take a complete backup of the repository folder from the old server and put it on the new server inthe path where you want to install QC.
2. Now install QC on the new server. Give the correct database details (make it point to the existing database).
3. You will get a screen saying schema found. Choose the option, use existing schema onthis screen and proceed with installation. Also make it point to the correct repository which you restored on the new server.
Let me know if this works. Before this, if QC is slow on all client machines, and you are using JBOSS as the application server, you can increase the heap size and see if this helps in improving performance.
