Excel template for TD

Hi all
Im going to start writing test cases soon but I have a question.

At the moment my company donít have any test tools but we are going to use TestDirector shortly (or Quality Center guess it is almost the same or at least in this case...).

I was thinking to write the test case in Excel and here is my question: does anybody know where I can find a template I can use, so it will be easy to transfer them to TD...
I know there is some import tool in TD so I may as well get it in the right format from the beginning

Best to start out right, if you have an available tool use it. Have imported Excel spreadsheet into Test Director in a past life, very doable.

Mercury / HP has very straightforward examples in the Help documentation available through QC Help dropdown.

Hi Zendoo,

The long answer: RTM (read the manual)... It has all the information and it's not that long.

The short one: Each line in excel represents a step, you just need to make sure that the PATH and the TEST NAME are repeated on all the lines for the same test.
