Multiple Iteration is not working

Hi Everyone, Here is my first post
1. What version of LoadRunner or PerformanceCenter are you using?

Loadrunner 8.1

2. What is the protocol you are working with?

HTTP/HTML

3. Which LoadRunner/PerformanceCenter feature or service packs are you using?

Virtu User Gen

4. What kind of LoadRunner license do you have - subscription, perpetual, Virtual User days, or evaluation?

perpetual

4.1 If subscription, is subscription current or expired?Current

5. What platform(s) and Operating Systems? Include version and service packs.

Windows XP

6. If you have filed a service request with Mercury, what have they told you at this point with respect to your issue?

Not yet.

I have succesfully created a script with param/correlation. And the script is working fine for the first iteration. But when i go for 2 or more iterations the script is not working. In more details, for the second iteration the script omits the login section. The script executes only the action part.

Did i miss any setting while running.

Re: Multiple Iteration is not working

It looks like you have the login script in vuser_init() and this is the way VUGen works, you can move login script to Action() if you need to login for each iteration.

Good Luck!!

this is by design, only code in action part will iterate not init and end

Thanks for you quick reply!!!

Is ther's any ways to iterate the login section recorded under vuser_int?.

Do i need to put all the scripts in action part to make it iterate?

You can also use the Run Time Settings to control the flow and which actions iterate.

But init and end are still only going to run once, Terri.

Re: Multiple Iteration is not working

I still like to put my logon / logoff in vuser_init and vuser_end even if I am logging in/out every iteration. I move both actions into the Run section under the Run Logic. It is all a matter of preference though

Re: Multiple Iteration is not working

Does it really make a difference if separate actions where created for login/logout or the way terri does it?

From what i know if you set the schedule on controller to run for 3 hours then you'd have the following:
Vuser_int will run once
body will run for 3 hours
Vuser_end will run once

Keeping login/logout in vuser_int/vuser_end will limit you to run your scenarios on 1 user only. On the other hand, creating separate actions for login/logout will allow you to run your scenarios on different users.

Re: Multiple Iteration is not working

I think it is all a mater of preference as to where you place your login/logout code.

[ QUOTE ]
Keeping login/logout in vuser_int/vuser_end will limit you to run your scenarios on 1 user only.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is a bit off. No matter where you have your login/logout code, you can always run for more than one/different users. You can use parameters to accomplish this.
