    Browser not invoked while recording using LR9

    1. What version of LoadRunner (LR) or PerformanceCenter (PC) are you using? (specify which tool LR or PC)

    2. What is the protocol you are recording?

    2.1 If .NET, which version of .NET does the app require?

    2.2 If .NET, which version of .NET do you have installed?

    3. If HTML - are you using HTML-Advanced with URLs or,

    4. If URL mode:
    - Concurrent groups, or
    - Without Concurrent groups?

    5. Which LoadRunner/PerformanceCenter feature (FPs) or service packs are you using?

    6. VuGen Recording - are you using Old or New Recording Engine?

    7. What kind of LoadRunner license do you have -

    - Evaluation
    (choose the one that fits your license model - (substitute your answer here))

    8. If subscription, is subscription current or expired?

    I am using LR9. I am trying to record a web application. When i enter the URL and click on start record i get the recording tool bar but the browser is not getting invoked. My default browser is IE7.Apart from IE7 i have Mozilla firefox in my PC too. I have also tried invoking that too. But for no avail.

    Kindly let me know whether you have come across such issue and please help me out regarding this.

    I believe there is a problem with IE7. There might be a patch available. Search here for IE7.
    Unless you are writing a compiler, strtok is NOT the answer.

    Call up HP Support and tell them your problem. I am sure they have patch ready for it.

    Check the readme file for DEP settings information and ensure your machine is set appropriately.

    this might be similar to the problem i was facing. check out sqaforums post: VuGen recorder is not launching Internet Explorer
