    LoadRunner Agent error

    I am getting the following error when I try to connect to another machine using the agent;

    "This application has failed to start because MWEApi.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem"

    I have verified that the dll is in the \\Loadrunner\bin directory. I tried to unreg and re register the dll, but got an error;

    "Load library ("mweapi.dll") failed. GetLastError returns 0x000000007e

    I am able to rename the dll, so it's not in memory.

    I have uninstalled and reinstalled LoadRunner per HP's instructions, but as usual, HP is no help at all. HP support suxors

    Has anyone else seen this problem?

    Re: LoadRunner Agent error

    I seem to recall I saw this error with LoadRunner 4.1 and Windows 95. Honest. I presume these are the versions of sofware and /or Operating system you are using.

    If these aren't your installed versions, then perhaps you'd like to follow the posting instructions given at the top of this forum so people might have a better chance of helping you.

    Re: LoadRunner Agent error

    oops..sorry about that. The .Net is v2.0.50727. The site is HTML, no advanced URL's.

    The problem is not script related. I have been able to run testing using all of my scripts.

    Re: LoadRunner Agent error

    Ok, let me try this again

    1. What version of LoadRunner (LR) or PerformanceCenter (PC) are you using? Loadrunner 8.1

    2. What is the protocol you are recording? Web

    2.1 If .NET, which version of .NET does the app require? No .Net requirements for app

    2.2 If .NET, which version of .NET do you have installed? v2.0.50727

    3. If HTML - are you using HTML-Advanced with URLs or, No

    4. If URL mode: No concurrent groups
    - Concurrent groups, or
    - Without Concurrent groups?

    5. Which LoadRunner/PerformanceCenter feature (FPs) or service packs are you using? Feature Pack 4

    6. VuGen Recording - are you using Old or New Recording Engine? New Engine

    7. What kind of LoadRunner license do you have -
    - Subscription,
    - Perpetual,
    - Permanent/Unlimited
    - Virtual User days, or
    - Evaluation?
    (choose the one that fits your license model - (Permanent/Unlimited))

    8. If subscription, is subscription current or expired? N/A

    9. What platform(s) (PCs) and Operating Systems (Windows-XP, etc.)? Include version and service packs (SP1 or 2, etc.) The controller is running on Windows Server 2003, Service Pack 2

    10. If you have filed a service request with HP/Mercury, what have they told you at this point with respect to your issue? HP has been their usual unhelpful selves. I got a general "Try uninstalling and reinstalling" response. I've tried that once, and now I'm trying it again.

    Re: LoadRunner Agent error

    I just finished doing a complete uninstall/reinstall of LoadRunner which included removing all of the directories and registry entries. That didn't take care of the problem

    Re: LoadRunner Agent error

    I did that already. There is only the one in the loadrunner/bin directory. I was just able to connect to an agent on a machine that is running on the same subnet as the controller. The machine that is giving me the problem is on a different subnet.
