I have a user who needs to use LoadRunner to load test their infrastructure by way of slamming their servers with a bunch of MQ messages. I'm pretty new to LoadRunner, and really only have experience with http/s protocol. Does anybody know A. if LoadRunner can support this user's needs, and B. what protocol to use for such needs?
Please forward all my mail to the corner of Pork & Beans.
Re: LoadRunner protocol for Websphere MQ protocol?
You do not need LoadRunner to "slam" MQ.
1) Disable MQ. Load it up. Count the entries. Enable it. Time it.
2) With batch scripts to load the queue, and MQ running, load it up. Count the entries. Time it.
3) Vary 2 as desired.
On the other hand if you have clearly defined objectives, you could possibly need LR. So ask this "user" to provide more details here.
If the the MQ queue is normally populated with users using a web app that uses HTTP, then you would normally use http/html.
What will "slamming" tell one that is not already known?
