LoadRunner fails to make Table Entry
This is Zubair, I work with Performance Testing of Applications, using LoadRunner.
*I have come across an unusual issue working with LoadRunner which is described as below:
Tool used for performance test* ********** :* LoadRunner 7.51
This Application is used to Manage Tasks which are assigned,
We used Load Runner to Record/Generate Script for a Transaction (Generation of Task)
This will enter relevant information in its respective Database
The above activity is recorded and the task is created during recording.
When it’s been Played back, script ended giving “Pass” result, the Database is not populated with the information.
I am assuming that this incompatibility issue.
What would be the possible Root Cause because of which LoadRunner Script fails to make entry into the relevant table, though the script is Passing.
Please Advice as to how to approach to this issue. Waiting for the positive reply.
Thanks & Regards,
Re: LoadRunner fails to make Table Entry
What process have you followed to ensure that all of the below have been addressed correctly?
</font><ul type="square">[*]<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">All user input based items have been parameterized successfully</font>[*]<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">All system provided items have been correlated successfully</font>[*]<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">All business rules which are naturally enforced by the application have been honored by your modified script.</font>[/list]<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">
The first two items are generally covered in LoadRunner training and should have been reinforced through your first couple of projects by your tool mentor. If not, then your trainer and your mentor have done you a great disservice in the level of training they have provided to you.
A hiccup in any of the three can result in your script not completing its business process successfully and updating/entering data. These, by the way, are not LoadRunner specific and would apply to any performance testing tool from any vendor.
