I know that the scripts from 8.1 are backwards compatible with 8.0, but I'm wondering about 7.8.
I'm quite new at this, and just attended Mercury's LR 8.1 training. I've looked at 7.8, and I think I'd much prefer scripting in VuGen 8.1.
I'm not in a position to play with this yet, or I'd have tried it myself and let you know.
Thanks in advance,
Always code as if the guy who ends up maintaining your code will be a violent psychopath who knows where you live.
The code itself should be, it likely would just be some of supporting files that you may have issues with.
Hope this helps.
definitely most of the code will be fine - some things have changed
lr_exit is an example - different behaviour
and also some things were introduced in 8.0
I had issues with it, I can't remember the specifics but it I seem to recall that when I tried to run in 7.8 with 8.1 scripts it ignored some of my runtime settings.

Moot point now. Convinced the client to upgrade to 8.1.
