    HTTP_INFO_TOTAL_RESPONSE_STAT

    Mercury created a new KB article #43979 on Jan 20, 2006 discussing two additional options for the web_get_int_property function. One of those new options is HTTP_INFO_TOTAL_RESPONSE_STAT that captures and returns the total bytes of a response from the server. I'm using this new option and I'm not getting the response stat returned from the function. My code is below... Just curious to know if any of you have used one of these additional options successfully?

    web_url("SSO",
    "URL={PROTOCOL}://{SERVER_ADDRESS}/
    {TARGET_RESOURCE}",
    "Resource=0",
    "RecContentType=text/html",
    "Referer=",
    "Snapshot=t1.inf",
    "Mode=HTML",
    LAST);

    httpResponseSize = web_get_int_property(HTTP_INFO_TOTAL_RESPONSE_STAT );
    sprintf(response, "The page response size is %d", httpResponseSize);
    lr_log_message(response);

    My log has:
    The page response size is 0

    When I run the same code with the HTTP_INFO_DOWNLOAD_SIZE option, I get the download size returned.

    Re: HTTP_INFO_TOTAL_RESPONSE_STAT

    I have my answer...I should have seen this before but the answer was in my question as well. More investigation into my logs and using the browser manually revealed that a download occured on my example web_url as opposed to subsequent requests in my script. I just need to determine whether or not I'm receiving a response or a download---then I'll use the appropriate option.

    Re: HTTP_INFO_TOTAL_RESPONSE_STAT

    Take 3...

    Okay...the solution that I thought was a solution was not really a solution... After I continued unit-testing my script I noticed inconsistent results with the new options. I just got off the line with Mercury Support and the support engineer tested the HTTP_INFO_TOTAL_RESPONSE_STAT option as well and he verified that it isn't working. He's researching the issue to determine why it isn't functioning correctly, so I'll pass the info on to anyone that is interested when I receive it.

    If no one cars...I'll let this thread die! :-)

    Re: HTTP_INFO_TOTAL_RESPONSE_STAT

    Jeff - just for the heck of it, can you try some think time after it to see if it may work all the time and thus be an issue of "asynchroneity"?

    (not that one should use think time in this siutation)

    Re: HTTP_INFO_TOTAL_RESPONSE_STAT

    Thanks Jake...It turns out that the two new options are only available with VuGen 8.1 with SP1 installed. The KB article mentioned that they were available in 8.1 but made no mention of the SP1 requirement.

    Thanks!
