IP Wizard Question
Our load generator requests goes through a load balancer. This load balancer uses a sticky table to record the IP address. (This is the message we got from them : 1st time a user logon on roundrobin will sent him to one of the servers and his IP-address will be saved in the Sticky table next time user logs on the he will be sent to the same server because of the Sticky table. The IP-address will be flushed from the Sticky table if no action within 60 minutes.)
Off course it only records the one IP address (the load generator's IP) so load balancing is not happening as it should. I want to assign static IP addresses to all the vusers now. My question is this : The IP numbers generated - must they be on the same SUBNET as my load generators ?
Thanks a lot.
Re: IP Wizard Question
Look into spoofing - OR - parameterize the scripts such that you do the load-balancing via your scripts (i.e., if two servers, alternate users to the servers). Caution with the latter - you may be bypassing a content switch or other load-balancer that will skew your measurements.
