Can we simulate concurrency for non-web based applications
I have the requirement of testing a swing component which connects to the database directly and the aim is to test the performance when their are multiple concurrent users. I have used load runner in the past to simulate 50 concurrent users connecting through a browser to a portal server, but i don't know if it supports concurrent users for my requirement. Please help.
Re: Can we simulate concurrency for non-web based applications
Yes, it does. for lots of protocols other than just web. Select File, then New, Single Protocol Script, All Protocols. There's the list of protocols for whih you can build a virtual user. You then move to the controller where you define the load model for concurrent usage during some time period.
Please go over the product manuals related to the controller and the protocol you will be using before proceding with your implementation. IT sounds like it may have been a long while since you used LoadRunner adn a refresh on your product knowledge should help ground your load production efforts.
