    Winsock dynamic port correlation

    Hi All,

I need to correlate a client/server aplication using Winsock protocol, the ports are dynamic and need to capture the port number before creating the socket using lrs_create_socket("socket0", "TCP", "LocalHost=0", "RemoteHost=NewMES:xxxx"); xxxx is very dynamic and need to be captured before this statement.

We get the following error everytime we run the script in VUGen:
    Error : socket0 - Software caused connection abort. Error code : 10053.

Note: Winsock is the only protocol LoadRunner identifies in this scenario. We have already used lrs_save_search_string & lrs_save_parameter but unable to extract the port number.

    Please help.

    Thanks
    Manjunath

    Re: Winsock dynamic port correlation

Use manual correlation to retrieve the port number.

    Hi

Try recording a couple of times, and see which port if free.

The port xxxx should come from server side, then you shoul check your response data.

    Re: Winsock dynamic port correlation

Services (your remote host) use well known ports. Your local port is likely to be dynamic. Refer to literature on the use of TCP/IP before proceding in the sockets universe. It can only assist you in your efforts.

Try interacting with developers or any network engineer and read some articles on socket programming before you proceed.
