Recording QTP Scripts with Loadrunner
Management has decided to do LR testing with WinSock licenses on a .NET application rather than buy the .NET licenses. This requires that the Winsock scripts are re-recorded for each build. Has anyone tried anything like recording them using QTP and then using LoadRunner to record the playback of these scripts?
Re: Recording QTP Scripts with Loadrunner
Do you have web services (SOAP)?
Yes you can use QTP and LRun for playback. I think you can have but one QTP user per PC unless Terminal Services or Citrix will allow you multiple sessions for QTP. Talk about RAM usage though! To simply think about launching QTP uses 10 MB RAM.
Tell mgmt to lighten up and loosen the money belt. The cost of engineering Winsock scripts may far exceed your company's worth! (slight exaggeration - only slight)
