Catching dynamically changing html
I have encountered a rather interesting issue with LoadRunner v8.0. When I record a script I enter the values through html forms, however, at replay LR takes recorded html values and submits them directly to the form.
Now, the issue is that once I select a value from the drop down menu, a different drop down menu changes its values (using onChange() JS function) and I have no way of catching it in LR script.
I tried using the web_reg_save_param function to parse the HTML code and get that value, but it does not exist when the page is loaded initially.
Is there any way to use name/index pair instead of a name/value inside a web_submit_data function? I could provide an index of the item within the drop down menu, but I have no idea what its value, since it comes from the DB.
If you have any idea how to solve this issue I would be really greatful.
Re: Catching dynamically changing html
If you know which values result in the second drop down menu depending on the selection in the first drop down menu it may be possible to create a parameter file with pairs of valid value combinations.
This you can use as "input" for the script.
