Licensing load runner
I am having a doubt...
I would like to know about the Licenses that we should acquire for using load runner.
The scenario is something like this...
We have a system which we should test for a load of 1000 VUSER'S.
We are planning to use 4 or 5 load generator machines which will generate a load of 200 - 250 vusers. The protocol is web/http.
So in this case what are the licenses that we should get..
Should we acquire a separate license for
Should we get a license also for WAN emulator
Re: Licensing load runner
Number of VUsers for each protocol; types of monitors; and maintenance agreement support are the main components of what you pay for.
In effect, only the Controller is licensed as this dictates the data that can be generated and gathered in the first two items above.
I suggest that you get Mercury in to provide a proof of concept with your application. They will then 'sell' the product. In my experience, they will try and promote additional protocols/monitors. You can weigh the advantages of these up as your company sees fit.
I also suggest that if you do go for the product, that you negotiate as much as possible. Mentioning the competition may help you in this;-)
