I need to screen scrape a page, to look for dynamically generated text.
I have failed at several attempts to use web_reg_save_param().
I would GREATLY appreciate if someone could provide the methodology for using web_reg_save_param(). For example, at what point do I want to make this call?
This is well docuemtned in the LoadRunner Help file.
Basically though you call web_reg_save_param immediately prior to a web_submit_url or web_custom_request.
This initialises a storage area, in which LoadRunner stores the server response or a portion of.
The key to this is correctly specifying your left and right boundries, LB and RB in the example below:
This example will create a parameter LDAPGroup, storing everything between the LB '<Group name=' and the RB '/>'.
'Ord' is the instance of an occurence of the parameter, in the above example 'ALL' captures all occurences.
If there is only 1 occurence then the value would be accessed as folows:
I would recommend a LoadRunner Web training course if budget allows!
Hope this helps.
Thanks very much for you help Colin. This works for me. Unfortunately, no budget for LoadRunner Web training courses, and even worse I have a script due Thurdsday morning. This will be an all nighter.
