Controller Playback With Citrx ICA
We have a set of script recordr using the dual protocols of HTTP/HTML and Citrix ICA.
The scripts themselves work OK when run through Vugen. However if we build a scenario and attempt to run our scripts this way we encounter a problem where only 7 Virtual Users can connect to the citrix server while the rest fail with the error message 'Failed to connect to server'.
We had installed the Citrix ICA Client that ships with LoadRunner and were told by Mercury that as we are using LoadRunner 7.8 that we could install the latest version of the Citrix ICA Client from their web site which would probably solve the problem.
This we did only to find that none of our scripts would now connect to the citrix server.
If anybody has experienced problems connecting Citrix Virtual Users, or has successfully managed to connect many Citrix Virtus Users, I would appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance
Re: Controller Playback With Citrx ICA
If the scripts are running fine on vugen on the controller machine then there could be a timing problem with the citrix login connections as all concurrent users are attempting to login at the same time which makes the response from the citrix server very slow and therefore few of the logins get loged in and the rest are unable to login to the citrix server. Try out few of my suggestions.
1.Increase the timeout in the runtime settings on the scripts.By default the connect time would be 180 and the waiting time would be 60. Increase them to 240 and 500 respectively.
2.On the controller machine do not ramp more than 5 users at a time. Ramp the next 5 users after may be 30 secs.
