Retrieving a reference in SOAP/Web
I am using the SOAP protocol, but similarities with Web mean that you may be able to help...
I want to retrieve a reference that I can see within the extended execution log. but am having problems retrieving...
The application I am testing fails 'politely' so does not error out with a failure. As such, the reference indicates a true pass.
It has unique left and right boundaries. e.g.
The reference is unique and created as part of the final update call to the database and is not required within the script.
I have tried web_reg_save_param and web_create_html_param with lr_eval_string, but as there is nothing to parametise for this reference within the xml that is sent, I am not getting anywhere.
Any advice would be welcome.
Re: Retrieving a reference in SOAP/Web
It may be the case that you have to parse out more text than you actually need if the Ref exists inside a unique element. You can then use C functions to manipulate the text to get just what you need.
I am doing a similar thing and at times it gets quite messy, but it works.
