The company I am working for just bought LoadRunner along with licenses for 300 virtual users. The one question my manager posed to me is whether we should use ODBC or OCI for our database connections. We are leaning towards OCI because it is more efficent, but I wanted to know if there is any reason why we should go with ODBC instead. For example, are there times when OCI won't work?
What API does your client speak? When communicating to Oracle, does your application communicate using the OCI API or the ODBC API.... this is going to be more of a determinate than which API type of virtual user is more efficient. The end goal is for the API virtual user to reproduce as accurately as is possible the client side behavior of the application.
