    Matt,

I remember writing a function similar at my last place of employment but I
can't remember what I did exactly. The problem is that this function still
resides at my last place of employment and perhaps a friend of mine (Colin
Griffiths) who still works there could look it out for you.

    Colin,

If you have time can you look at the library of functions that I created
there and see if the one for random names is there (I'm sure that's what it
    did)

    Thanks

    Neil

I might of sorted it though,
I knew it was going to be fairly simple and by declaring

I would say the dat file, if you think about it, the amount of variables you
have had to declare to use this function, compare this with the amount you
would need to read the same thing in from a dat file, I am sure you will
find that the dat file alternative uses far less variables.

Um...having said that, I should probably point out that the randomization
apparently needs some work...perhaps stealing a bit from the other function offered
by the Neil/Colin programming team would help...

    To Matt --

Your function doesn't work the way you expect because i is not being initialized to
0 and so your while loop doesn't execute the second time through. The first time
it works because the C compiler was polite enough to initialize the environment for
    you.

    And so, it's kinda a cool function...thanks!

bearing in mind of course that this piece of code uses pointers and
unfortunately winrunner does not allow the use of these. Obviously the code
will need jigged about a bit to become TSL compliant. Good luck...
