    accesing columns

    Hi,
    I am having problems accessing a column from my data file

    e.g. Mydata.dat
    ServerType LB RB
    Jrun sessionid ;path
    Tomcat cookie ;url

    //those are not the actual values but rather an example

    in my script I have something like

    web_reg_save_param("Param1",
    "LB={MyData}",
    "RB={MyData}",
    etc....

    My questions is: How do I tell LR to access the value of column 2 (LB)??? Iused something like {MyData}{ServerName}
    I also tried {MyData.ServerName} and didn't work either. I checked the online doc but I coludn't find any samples in how to access this value.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: accesing columns

    You will need to associate each column with a different parameter.

    Assume you create three parameters:
    ServerType - associated with the first column in Mydata.dat
    LeftB - associated with the second
    RightB- associated with the third

    Just ensure that you have Select Next Row for LeftB and RightB as "Same row as ServerType"

    And your script now looks like:

    web_reg_save_param("Param1",
    "LB={LeftB}",
    "RB={RightB}",
    ...

    Re: accesing columns

    Thanks, It worked.

    It just seems kind of redundant to declare a Data File, and then create 3 different parameters for each column.

    A simpler way would be the ability to access the values directly (using the . notation)

    Now I have 1 data file and 3 extra parameters.

    Thanks again.
