    Webcheck points creating error in loadrunner

    Hi guys,
    I have recorded scripts in loadrunner and added web text check points. When i run the script in stand alone mode i.e, in Loadrunner Virtual user generator all the web checks pass, but when i am trying to run the same script using the loadrunner controller the all the web check points are failing. forget about the load even if i assign the script to one user and trying to run the web check points fail.
    Any idea why this is happening

    Rachana,
    What kind of web text check points are you mentioning here. There are many possible ways. Also check run-time settings in VUgen as well as Controller whether you have enabled Web Checks.

    Re: Webcheck points creating error in loadrunner

    Hi Pankaj
    I thought that there is only two checkpoints in loadrunner. one is the text and other is the image check point. i have the web_check error only when i have the settings for verification check in the runtime setting. if i disbale the verification check in the runtime setting that means i am asking loadrunner controller to ignore the web check. In that situation the webchecks are ignored and the test passes. When i enable the verification checks that is where the test fails

    bye

    Well Rachana,

    These verification points are generalized implicit verification points, and though they are good to start with, they lack flexibility. I will advice you to browse through the function reference first for web_find and when you feel comfortable with that go for web_reg_find. web_reg_find is really flexible, and I always prefer using that.

    Re: Webcheck points creating error in loadrunner

    My approach is similar to what EUC uses except that i use web_reg_save_param instead. This function allows the flexibility to break the script & exit or continue at runtime if the function fails.
    May be a code snippet can help you out with your problem :-
    //-------------------------------
    Action1()
    {
    char *szVal1 ;
    char szVal2[] = "";
    szVal1 = szVal2;

    lr_start_transaction("Home page display");

    web_reg_save_param("check1","NOTFOUND=warning","LB =xxxx","RB= yyyy","SEARCH=all","ORD=1",LAST);

    web_url("pnt_index_main.jsp",
    "URL=http://{URL}/pnt_index_main.jsp",
    "Resource=0",
    "RecContentType=text/html",
    "Snapshot=t19.inf",
    "Mode=HTTP",
    LAST);
    //following is error handling code
    lr_output_message("check1 :%s",lr_eval_string("{check1}"));

    szVal1 = lr_eval_string("{check1}");
    if(stricmp(szVal1,szVal2)==0)
    {
    lr_end_transaction("home page display", LR_FAIL);
    lr_exit(2,0);
    }

    szVal1 = szVal2;
    lr_end_transaction("home page display", LR_PASS);
    //-------------------------------
    Hope this helps

    If you run with full logging on for both vugen and controller then stick the logs into WDiff that should show up any differences.

    Thats true. Actually web_find and web_reg_save_param use the same component internally. Its upto personal choice, which one to use.
