    Correlation Correlation !

    Does anybody know how I can "Correlate" the following examples:
    http://xxx.xx.xx.xx/shop/HotelServlet?event=showHotel&hotelID=003724&brochu reID=TH01&seasonID=S2002&packagePage='yes'&element PackageNumber=0
    http://xxx.xx.xx.xx/shop/HotelServlet?event=showHotel&hotelID=005370&brochu reID=TH01&seasonID=S2002&packagePage='yes'&element PackageNumber=1

    005370 being the dyanmic data
    and
    the element package number end of url increments.

    Any Ideas ?

    Re: Correlation Correlation !

    Hi,
    use web_reg_save_param()
    for your case it woule be ..
    web_reg_save_param("Dynamic ",
    "LB=showHotel&hotelID=",
    "RB=&brochureID",
    LAST);
    http://xxx.xx.xx.xx/shop/HotelServlet?event=showHotel&hotelID={Dynamic}&bro chureID=TH01&seasonID=S2002&packagePage='yes'&elem entPackageNumber=0

    Hope this works . Put the web_reg_save_param at an appropriate palce in the code

    cheers
    amrit

    Hi Amrit,

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

    THe correct place? would that be the point just before the next HTML is built
    i.e. before the web_submit_data

    Thanks again

    Re: Correlation Correlation !

    Hi,

    The web_reg_save_param should come before the first time you'll receive the value from the server, and not before the first time you need to replace the parameter.

    Cheers

    Guys,

    doesn't the fact that the elementpackagenumber (end of url) changes affect what Amrit has suggested ?

    Re: Correlation Correlation !

    Hi,

    I couldn't understand from the corresponding if the returned value of the web_submit_data contains the first occurrence of the value you are looking for.

    You can check it very easily by replay the script in extended logging and data returned by server, and check which request returned the wanted value.

    I would also suggest you'll try to work with the web correlation studio that will scan the script and add the needed correlations.

    Cheers

    Because Mercury is getting rid of it. They have kept it in there for backwards compatability reasons but it will eventually disappear.
