anyone use redhat linux load generators?
Has anyone had any experience using RedHat Linux as a load generating machine. Your feedback is much appreciated.
Re: anyone use redhat linux load generators?
had a nightmare trying to get RSH set up between NT4 controller (LR6.0) and Redhat6. The point at the time was that Linux was more efficient than NT as an injector. However, with the new agent (LR 7.0) the NT service is more efficient than Linux. Plus, LR does not even use SSH to connect to Linux (and even SSH has security vulnerabilities).
The problem here is that if your injectors are open to the internet, you leave yourself exposed to kidz using 'sploitz, and end up being part of a DDOS attack without realising. Not saying that this won't happen with NT, but less likely given that RSH is extremely vulnerable.
So my advice would be.....
don't even bother....!
