Hi all, I want to generate start-values for each vUsers in Matlab, with some distribution, say Guass-distribution. And then store this Matlab-generated values in a text-file. How can I access this values in Loadrunner?...I'm grateful for any suggestions
Create parameters for each of the attributes of 'file' type. Use the same file for each parameter and just add an extra column for each one.
First two columns will probably be username, password. Followed by the data the start-values.
I usually set it up so that it selects column by name with the value username.
Set Advance row each iteraction to off as the username will be selected once and last the lifetime of the user.
The select next rule I set to unique that means I have to have one line for each vuser and I wont have any two using the same data unless I put in two lines that are the same.
For other values:
The select next rule is Same line as username. This makes sure that it matches.
I have a file with rows of graph data in it for activity against time. This gives me a set of profiles. These are loaded into each Vuser as there arent to many. Then each vuser has information about which profile graph to use and the applitude to multiply it by.
This was designed to simulate as close as possible to real environment.
By the way if you have a lot of parameters to enter (as I did) you can edit the 'filename'.prm file use cut and paste and change the names.
Russ, thanks for your help.
