using LR for Java RMI Load Test

I am doing a load test on a Versata java application. When I record a login, LR is recording the java class objects, methods and settings of properties. One thing i noticed is that LR is hardcoding the values in the script. How can I control LR to not hardcode the values in my script? And also how can I parameterized a value (user login) that LR casts as bytes?

Does anyone know of any documentation that exists to help you get
started with recording a Java RMI application?

Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
