How does LR read server parameters
LoadRunner is able to monitor a lot of server side parameters like CPU usage, VM status, disk activity etc.
Reading these parameters off an NT server is easy - the perfmon counters are present and can be read off a network.
I was wondering how this is done on Solaris. If your server runs say Solaris 2.6, how does LR collect these values from it? My guess is that it must be reading specific kernel variables. I would like to get a list of these variables so that I could monitor them on the Sun machine itself using a tool like the SE Toolkit. Basically I want to avoid the network traffic involved in ferrying the parameter values to the LR host.
Any pointers, ubergurus ?

Re: How does LR read server parameters
Loadrunner monitors unix systems using "rstatd". It has various counters for cpu, memory, paging, disk and network traffic.
For details Go to Loadrunnr controller userguide in Help menu online book
Monitoring a scenario > resource monitoring >creating a measurment list.
Some people also use "sar" utitilty but i have not used it yet.
