LR is not concerned with what you developed your pages in (i.e. asp, plp,
jsp. html). The question you need to find out is what protocol your
application uses to communcate between the browser and the webserver, because
it is the communication that LR captures.
As far as monitors, there is an ASP monitor that you can add from the Win2000
performs. You can also add any number of counters to monitor webserver
resources. See the books online for the Controller for details.

it depends on what you want to accomplishing. I would say that you sit with
your network admin and the person that you are going to give your report and
decide what it is you want to accomplish from your testing then add the
necessary monitors. LoadRunner comes with numerous monitors that you can buy
as add-in that puts the server responses along with the transactions
responses to determine what was happening any minute/second of your scenario
