Exclamation Loadrunner Vs Hiperstation for mainframe testing

    Hi All,

I am looking for a quick comparison of LoadRunner vs Compuware Hiperstation for CICS based mainframe application. Now my client has a disability to provide multiple Mainframe IDs to test the app for concurrency and I understand that. But a "mainframe guru" from the team claimed Compuware Hiperstation takes care of concurrency part better than LoadRunner. Since I have very limited knowledge of Mainframe systems, I argued concurrency requires multiple ids and so we should have the same road block with Hiperstation as with LR. Is my assumption correct or it just shows my lack of knowledge of this mainframe tool?

I have posted this in LR forum as I could not find any other appropriate place. Please move it of required.

    Regards,
    Xhings

LoadRunner supports TN3270, TN5250 and SSH connection types for use with Mainframes. This would be the fundamental technical basis for connection. LoadRunner can collect stats using SNMP or create datapoints from the output of terminal commands for monitoring purposes.

Perhaps your mainframe guru can define concurrency in a more precise way, including how it has been measured in Hiperstation vs LoadRunner to support the claim. Also, from my understanding, Hiperstation is a mainframe functional testing tool and this comparison would be to a performance testing tool. That would be like comparing a person who runs alone in the morning with participation in the Boston Marathon.

If you want the Hiperstation equivalent, how about using QuickTest Pro to drive the terminal solution of your choice(??)
