LoadRunnerversion 12 direct connection not working
Recently we got migrated from 11.04 to 12.02 version of loadrunner. Application under test will be executed by direct connection mode (host file in system32 folder has been updated with the respective ip address). This script was working for me in 11.04 previously however the same script is not working in 12.02.
Also we tried recording a new script via proxy and re-run the scripts via direct connection, even in this case scripts are not working. below is the error message that we receive in the vugen.
Failed to connect to server "servernameortno" connection timed out
Let us know if there is any specific settings in LoadRunner v12 that needs to updated so that scripts will run in direct connection using the ip address defined in the host files.
IS this happening on VUGEN, on all Load Generators, on one particular load generator, etc... Can you "PING" from the hosts impacted with the name in the hosts file? Please help to define the scope of the problem.
LoadRunner uses the IP Stack for name resolution and does not bypass the mechanisms of your local stack. So, if you get name resolution with PING then there may be some other issue, such as mismatched versions of software on components (Controller at 12.x and load generators at 11.x as an example)

Currently we are in migration phase from LR 11.X from LR12.X. Hence only on two machine we have migrated from LR11.X to LR12.X remaining machines are still in LR.XX which are working perfectly in direct connection mode. We are able to ping the ip address and we are getting response from server in command prompt on the same machine where LR12.X is installed. However when we run the scripts via direct connection mode error message is returned.
