ODBC protocol in load runner 12 version
Please help me how to identify the values to be correlated in load runner v12 for ODBC protocol.I 've worked on Lr 8 version and there is an option for "Scan for correlation".Using this I could able to find the values to be correlated. But in the latest version of LR ,I wouldnt able to find that option. I can use Lrd_save_col function to correlate the values, but need to figure which value needs to be correlated.
thank you for all your replies.
similar to basic manual correlation in web
find dynamic values in the requests and then look for the preceding responses that contains the values you require, use lr functions, as appropriate, to save the values to parameters, replace dynamic values with parameters
Thank you Jim for your response.
But in ODBC protocol ,script has captured more number of values in the queries. It is not necessarily needs to be correlated. In LR 8 version ,we have an option to do scan for correlation. This will give the values which needs to be correlated. But in LR 12 version I could'nt able to find the scan for correlation option. Is there any way which we can do correlation apart from manually searching every dynamic value.
I am also having same issue with ODBC protocol. I think they disable the scan and corelate for ODBC protocol in LR 12. With lr_fetch function, I was able to replay the script successfully, but it is not doing anything at the backend.
@vamshidara - ah yes there may be some 'extra' work involved there - ie going through and working out whats going on and how to replicate it
more than likely, if you are getting a multi-row data set back, then it will either be pick one or aggregate something - so pretty much identical to manual correlation
@vamode - if the script ran but the back end is not affected then the script is wrong - it's failing just in a way you are not noticing
@both -i would suggest reading the manual to see the recommended process for developing ODBC scripts in LR12
