Loadrunner compatibility with client server application
I have a query where I am hindered in my proceeding.
My core application (web based) makes a call to 'Web retrieve DDE server' - a thick application which is used for choosing the user electronic signature.
As part of my business transaction, I need to click a button in the core application which in turn take my control to the thick application where I can select my signature. Once the signature got selected, control will be back to the core application in order to authorize the business flow and the transaction ends there.
Note: In prior to commence the business transaction, 'Web retrieve DDE server' application should be running in the background. Initially, when we click the .exe, it will display 'waiting for request' in the screen and the same screen will display the customer signature once the button is clicked from the core application at the time of performing the business transaction
We have tried recording the interaction part (Web based core app -> web retrieve thick application) under the following protocols whereas events are not getting recorded.
Tool: Loadrunner 9.5
Protocol: Web & Winsock
When we discussed with developers, we got the info that Java script is been used and the interaction made on VB call.
I even tried IE developer tools also in order to see the traffic being generated when we click the button. But, there are no requests been shown under network panel of the developer tools.
Kindly help us in resolving this issue
Thanks in Advance for your valuable inputs.
Think architecturally. DDE is 100% local inside of the Windows OS. It uses an internal IPC mechanism between the DDE client and server and never hits the IP stack, so there is zero t record from a perspective between local client and remote server.
