I searched the forum for "GMT" and get a bunch of hits without the keyword GMT, so I am asking:
I have a date_time parameter defined. But it is using the local time on each server (and LG) where it runs. The LGs time zones are all set to GMT as are the servers under test. But the laptops where we develop scripts are currently set to their local time zones (making it much easier to set up Outlook meetings, etc.).
But when the scripts using the date_time parameter are run under vuGen on a laptop we would like to force the date_time value to be GMT. This can't be done by "adding" or subtracting time to the parameter, unless it is done on each laptop (and if that is done and the adjusted time is in advertantly left in the script and it is uploaded to ALM the timestamp will be wrong when run from an LG).
So, is there anyway to tell LR in the script "I want you to always use GMT time and not my local time"? If not the alternative appears to be that we have to set all laptops to GMT time zone.
I haven't used it, but you might want to do a help search in vugen for "Date and Time Functions" and specifically for "gmtime". According to help, it "Converts the system time into Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)".
Another option is to use one of your LGs to develop your scripts.
