I have inherited a project that used MQTester 3.4 to create scripts. I have (apparently) successfully installed the IBM Webspere v6.x client software (required by MQTester 3.4) and then (again apparently) succesfully installed MQTester 3.4 (both on my laptop that is running vuGen 11.04). I had to first install LG software which seemed odd, but that too was a prerequiste to MQTester 3.4.
Having done all the above (and rebooting my laptop) I open vuGen but do not find the expected new MQSeries-Client protocol choice.
MQTester 3.4 documentation only mentions LR through 9.5 and I am using 11.04.
Metastorm, who produced MQTester 3.4 has morphed into OpenText and that site returns no hits for even "MQ".
Can anyone tell me with confidence that MQTester 3.4 is not compatible with vuGen 11? And can anyone confirm that MQTester is still a viable product under vuGen 11?
Much Thanks, Terry Horwath
Adding the MQSeries protocols to vuGen has one more dependency than is stated in the document (mqtest.pdf) found in the MQTSv3.4.0.zip. And this added dependency is significant. The HP Support Site KM00382129 states:
"It is a requirement to have full PC host or full LR installation on the boxes where MQ Tester needs to be installed and for the Vuser types to be available. When you install on Full LoadRunner machine MQ Client and MQ Tester Add-in in Vugen you will get 2 MQ protocols, MQ Client and MQ Server."
This meant I had to uninstall my standalone 11.04 vuGen, Analysis, etc. apps and then install the full PC Host. Long round trip with all this un-install, install, re-install of MQ Tester, but when I was done I finally had MQSeries Client and Server protocols in vuGen.
