    Facing issue in web_custom call encrypted values

    Hi Experts,

    Recently I had chance to work with client server (win32) application developed using .Net framework. The communication protocol was HTTP. All the business functions uses service calls.

    We decided to script with web protocol - win32. But the problem here is development team was using some encryption method. because of this, in custom calls we'r getting encoded values which we were not able to do anything.

    web_custom_request("custom",
    "URL=http://{application_url}",
    "Method=POST",
    "Resource=0",
    "RecContentType=application/x-gzip",
    "Referer=",
    "Snapshot=t1.inf",
    "Mode=HTML",
    "EncType=application/x-gzip",
    "BodyBinary=\\x1F\\x8B\\x08\\x00\\x00\\x00\\x00\\x 00\\x04\\x
    00\\xED\\xBD\\x07`\\x1CI\\x96%&/m\\xCA{\\x7FJ\\xF5J\\xD7\\xE
    0t\\xA1\\x08\\x80`\\x13$\\xD8\\x90@\\x10\\xEC\\xC1 \\x88\\xCD
    \\xE6\\x92\\xEC\\x1DiG#)\\xAB*\\x81\\xCAeVe]f\\x16@\\xCC\\xE
    D\\x9D\\xBC\\xF7\\xDE{\\xEF\\xBD\\xF7\\xDE{\\xEF\\ xBD\\xF7\\
    xBA;\\x9DN'\\xF7\\xDF\\xFF?
    \\\\fd\\x01l\\xF6\\xCEJ\\xDA\\xC9\\x9E!\\x80\\xAA\ \xC8\\x1F?
    ~|\\x1F?
    \"\\x1E7\\x8FN\\x97\\x97yY\\xAD\\xF2\\xF4\\xDD\\xA 2\\\\6\\x8
    F\\x9A\\xCF"
    "..........."
    LAST);

    I suggested to disable the encryption mode in configuration settings. After doing this we're able to work on script.

    Please suggest me is there any other work around to resolve this without disabling encryption option.

    Re: Facing issue in web_custom call encrypted values

    Hi,

    You can use the custom encryption logic (after translating to C) used by developers in your LR script to process your raw input and provide you the required encrypted output.

    (or)

    Provide a big list of test data to your development team, ask them to process and provide the required encrypted data which you can substitute in your custom requests.

    Please ensure that you are able to handle dynamic data.
    Cheers,
    Vivek

    Not encrypted, compressed.
