I Want to verify the response time to save the pdf document by using load runner with IE8 browser
1). In the Web page there is 'Save' button. So I selected 'Save' button while recording -> This part is recording
2). File Download pop-up window(browser related window) is displaying and giving file open, save, cancel options
3) Selected 'Save' from pop-up window --> This part is not recording
Protocol's Used: http/html
Please give me suggestions. Thanks in advance
Are you recording OSI Application layer GUI events and how can you tell in your script?
what happens between client and server when this dialog is open and based upon to the question above what should you expect for recording between client and server for this dialog?
Or, you can just switch to GUI Virtual Users, QTP, where you will need 500 Operating System instances to run a 500 virtual user test.
Replace ineffective offshore contracts, LoadRunnerByTheHour. Starting @ $19.95/hr USD.
Put us to the test, skilled expertise is less expensive than you might imagine.

I used google and found a couple of articles that explain this including a video about how to do what you want.

I always try to answer the question "what happens between client and server" (as James said)....this is crucial question before you design or script your test

There are many posts around your question. Search them out.
As james said, switching to GUI users or importing QTP scripts for client operations being performed will aid you in simulation and measuring RT for saving the document.
You will not be able to measure timing accurately, unless you make complete capture of both client & server side operations.
Thank you LoadRunner421.
I followed the links which you sent me. It is working now. I appreciated your help.
